Job summary

Southern Tire Mart is seeking a tire technician to mount, balance, rotate, and repair tires for passenger and commercial vehicles. The role requires diagnosing tire-related issues, performing fleet inspections, and safely operating service trucks as needed.

The position involves lifting heavy tires (30–250 lbs.), working flexible hours, and following safety guidelines. Company benefits include 401(k) matching and health/dental/vision/life insurance, with paid on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older; 21 years or older to drive.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Experience with heavy-duty/commercial tires preferred, but not required.
• Ability to lift/move tires weighing 30-250 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
• Able to perform repetitive and sustained physical exertions, including bending, lifting, kneeling, and exposure to vibrations.
• Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Overtime maybe required.

Responsibilities

• Mount, balance, rotate, and repair all types of tires: passenger, light truck, large truck, and industrial.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair commercial vehicles including:
• Perform fleet inspections and routine maintenance checks
• Operate company vehicles safely, following all traffic and speed regulations
• Respond to service calls using a service truck (F-350) when necessary
• Load/unload inventory and assist with physical stock counts
• Use and maintain Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS)
• Follow all safety procedures, training guidelines, and company policies
• Perform other duties as assigned
