Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions in Springfield, MO is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to install and troubleshoot GPS, telematics, cameras, and sensors on light-duty vehicles and commercial fleet assets.

You will perform 12V/24V wiring, route wiring cleanly, test systems, and diagnose issues while traveling to customer sites for mobile installations. A strong mechanical/auto background and safe, right-first-time work are required; ASE/I-CAR opportunities available.

Qualifications

Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Professional communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
