Job summary
Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to join our mobile team. You’ll install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors and other fleet technology across vehicles and trailers, with opportunities to advance in automotive and fleet tech.
Ideal candidates bring hands-on automotive/electrical experience, the ability to read wiring diagrams, and strong problem-solving skills.
Qualifications
- Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical or installation experience.
- Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras and sensors.
- Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors and trailers.
- Perform 12V/24V wiring including power, ignition, ground and diagnostics.
- Route and secure wiring for clean installations.
- Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors and system functionality.
- Diagnose electrical, connectivity and installation issues.
- Document completed installations with photos, device information and service notes.
- Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
- Maintain safety, quality and right-first-time installations.
