Job summary

Protech Automotive Solutions is seeking an Automotive Installation Technician to install and support GPS, telematics, cameras, sensors, and fleet technology across vehicles and trailers. You’ll travel to customer sites for mobile installations, working on light-duty and heavy vehicles with 12V/24V wiring.

The role values hands-on automotive experience, strong problem-solving, and customer-facing communication. Training and growth opportunities accompany ASE/I-CAR certifications.

Qualifications

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work.
• Professional communication and customer service skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work around vehicles and trailers.
• 21+ years of age.

Responsibilities

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment.
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets.
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections.
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations.
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality.
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues.
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes.
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations.
