Job summary

Perdue Transportation Incorporated (PTI) is the transportation service and logistics provider for Perdue Foods. PTI maintains and repairs fleet equipment, guiding vehicles through preventive maintenance and complex repairs to ensure safety and reliability across the fleet.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Minimum 1-year mechanical repair or training.
  • Mechanical repair experience for Intermediate Level: Minimum 3 years direct fleet/heavy equipment experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance, safety inspections, and service vehicle systems including brakes, air systems, electrical, hydraulics, and driveline components.
  • Utilize shop computer systems and OEM diagnostic software to identify equipment failures and determine repair methods.
  • Senior Level: service engine emission systems, internal engine components, HVAC, welding or fabrication.
  • Accurately complete work orders and evaluate repairs prior to releasing vehicles to service to ensure DOT and company standards.
  • Respond to road calls and perform emergency repairs as necessary.
  • Senior technicians will mentor and guide Level I and II technicians.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment and follow OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company safety regulations.
