Job summary

Velocity Truck Rental and Leasing in Fontana, CA is seeking a Fleet Technician-Intermediate to diagnose and repair major mechanical and electrical issues on light to heavy-duty tractors. You will perform preventive maintenance, road tests, and component upgrades, working under supervision from the Service Manager or Lead Technician.

This role requires hands-on diagnostic skills, strong safety focus, and the ability to work independently in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 4 years’ mechanical inspections and repairs experience.
• Valid Class B Driver’s License.
• CFC 609 Certification.
• Basic welding skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Preventive Maintenance Inspections and oil changes.
• Perform service calls and diagnose vehicle issues.
• Repair, replace, and adjust components across systems.
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs.
• Carry out tire replacements and mounting.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state vehicle standards.
• Maintain vehicle records of services and repairs.
• Manage costs by evaluating parts options and warranties.
