The City of Surprise is seeking a part-time Fleet Technician to perform journey-level repairs and routine maintenance on a wide range of automotive and small equipment. The role supports Fleet Technicians II and III with various repairs across diverse assets including solid waste vehicles, construction equipment, and fire apparatus.

This position will be scheduled approximately 29-hours per week
Incumbents perform journey-level repairs and maintenance on a wide variety of automotive and small equipment; and assist Fleet Technicians II and Fleet Technicians III with general repairs and maintenance on a variety of diverse equipment and vehicles such as solid waste vehicles, construction equipment, fire apparatus, bucket trucks, and others.
High school diploma or GED, and two years of automotive or heavy truck servicing, maintenance, and repair experience OR completion of an accredited automotive or diesel training program at a trade school or community college. Additional education cannot be substituted for experience.
