Job summary

The City of Conroe seeks a Fleet Technician I to maintain a diverse fleet including cars, trucks, boats and small equipment. You will perform inspections, diagnostics and light repairs, with opportunities to handle major disassembly and reassembly of engine and hydraulic systems as needed.

Qualifications include postsecondary fleet training or two years of experience, plus ASE, MACS and Texas emissions certifications within six months. Commitment to safety and reliability is essential.

Qualifications

• Postsecondary training or two years fleet experience.
• Must obtain three ASE certifications within six months.
• MACS certification in Freon installation, automotive air conditioning and emissions within six months.
• Texas Safety and Emissions Certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance inspections and light repairs on varied fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Replace worn parts such as axles, bearings, gears, seals and pumps as needed.
• Troubleshoot using electronic and diagnostic equipment and reference schematics.
