Job summary

Gfoat is seeking a Technician 1 in Fleet Services to perform light maintenance and repairs, working under the Lead Technician to provide excellent service for city vehicles and equipment.

You will perform preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and assist in troubleshooting under supervision, with responsibilities including maintaining the shop, inventory, and documenting time and parts used. You must have your own tools and a Texas CDL is required within six months.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Must hold a valid Texas drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
• Must have basic knowledge of personal computers.
• Prefer some ASE certifications.
• Must be able to obtain an ASE certification in automotive brakes & steering within six months (A5).
• Must obtain a class B CDL license within six months.
• Must have at least one year of experience in a garage environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs for city vehicles and equipment.
• Perform some diagnostics of vehicle problems under supervision.
• Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues with various City equipment and vehicles.
• Maintain shop area, tools, and inventory in a safe and efficient manner.
• Must have own tools.
• Respond to emergencies and work overtime as assigned by supervisor.
