Job summary

The City of Conroe seeks a Fleet Technician I to service a range of vehicles from cars to heavy trucks and small equipment. Tasks include inspections, light repairs, and complex disassembly/reassembly when required, with emphasis on safety and environmental compliance.

Ability to stay at one location during weather-related emergencies is required. Qualifications include formal training or two years of fleet experience, three ASE credentials within six months, MACS Freon and emissions

Qualifications

• Formal postsecondary training or two years fleet experience.
• Three ASE certifications within six months.
• MACS refrigerant, automotive air conditioning and emissions certification.
• Texas Safety and Emissions Certification within six months.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance inspections and light repairs on fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions using electronic and computerized diagnostic equipment.
• Disassemble/reassemble engines and hydraulic components as needed.
• Ensure safety, environmental compliance and quality standards in repairs.
