Job summary

Nextlink is seeking a Fleet Mechanic in Texas to perform maintenance, inspections, and diagnostics on company vehicles and equipment. You will help ensure safe, compliant operations and minimize downtime across multiple sites.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years in mechanical work, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a DOT medical certification. This is a full-time, on-site position with benefits and opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or relevant vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical work, automotive logistics, or related field.
• Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and DOT compliance.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an acceptable driving record.
• Must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a valid DOT medical examiner’s certificate (company-paid).

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, brake services and inspections.
• Diagnose mechanical issues on light and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Maintain accurate records for repairs, inspections and parts used in accordance with policy.
• Inspect vehicles to identify safety issues and needed repairs.
• Install and maintain telemetry devices and assist with upfit installations as required.
• Transport vehicles between locations and repair facilities as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and follow safety policies.
