Job summary

Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) seeks a full-time Fleet Technician in Mt. Pleasant, TX to perform routine maintenance on TRAX fleet vehicles, coordinate with the Fleet Supervisor, and respond to issues as they arise.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and 3–5 years of automotive or large equipment service and repair experience; a valid driver's license is required; ability to lift up to 30 pounds. Position open until filled.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, power trains, air conditioning units, brakes and transmission repair.
• Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude and ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and lift up to 30 pounds.
• Good communication with staff and vendors regarding fleet needs and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance on all TRAX fleet vehicles.
• Coordinate with Fleet Supervisor and respond to vehicle issues as they arise.
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on a scheduled basis.

Fleet Technician, Announcement #2610

The Ark-Tex Council of Governments (ATCOG) is now accepting applications for Fleet Technician, Announcement #2610. This is a full-time position located in the Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Maintenance Facility. Salary is $21.15 per hour. This position is responsible for routine maintenance on all TRAX fleet vehicles, coordinating with the Fleet Supervisor. This position is also responsible for performing preventative maintenance inspections and service on a scheduled basis. This position will respond to issues that arise with vehicles assisting in diagnosing and correcting (if possible) the issues.

Education / Training: High school diploma, or equivalent, plus three (5) years experience in basic automotive or large equipment service and repair; or combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES (KSA's)

Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engines, power trains, air conditioning units, brakes and transmission repair.

Skill/Ability: Ability to maintain fleet activity and organize a maintenance shop. Ability to order supplies and equipment. Must demonstrate mechanical aptitude. Ability to communicate with staff and vendors regarding fleet needs and repairs. Ability to see, hear, reach, stoop, bend, and lift and carry up to 30 pounds required. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Additional Requirement: Must possess a valid Driver's License subject to an approved motor vehicle report.
