Job summary

John Lee Nissan is seeking an experienced automotive technician to thrive in a fast-paced dealership service department. You will perform a wide range of repairs, test systems with diagnostic tools, and communicate with the Fleet Service Advisor to estimate time and needed services.

The role requires strong problem solving, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new technology while upholding dealership standards.

Qualifications

Attention to detail is an absolute requirement.
Strong problem - solving skills are preferred.
Knowledge in welding/fabrication and hydraulics is beneficial.
Electronic diagnostics experience is valuable.
DOT/ANSI experience is a plus.
Lift gate repair experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership standards.
Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment.
Diagnoses, maintains, and repairs vehicle automotive systems, including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning.
Communicates directly with the Fleet Service Advisor to inform customers if any additional service is needed and provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs.
Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications.

We are looking for someone who likes a fast-paced environment with a big desire to make sure the customer's vehicle is back on the road, safe and quickly. Every minute a fleet customer's vehicle is in the shop that customer is losing money. We are a one-stop shop and perform repairs on everything from the rubber to the roof!

Some experience we would prefer:

Lift gate repair

DOT/ ANSI experience

DPF systems

Welding/Fabrication

Strong problem - solving skills

Hydraulics

Electronic Diagnostics

Requirements:

Knowledge in all aspects of automotive repair and maintenance
Must have a valid driver's license
Maintain stall in an orderly and clean manner
Ability to identify problems quickly
Ability to learn new technology, repair, and service procedures and specifications
Able to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
Basic computer and internet literacy
Operate a variety of hand, power, and shop tools
Keep shop equipment operating (maintain, troubleshoot, repair, etc.)
Drive manual transmission vehicles
Use computer diagnostic equipment
Must have reliable transportation
