Job summary

City of Huntsville's Fleet department is seeking a qualified applicant for the Fleet Services Technical Assistant position. This role will focus on acquisition, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of electronic equipment within the Fleet Division, including personal computers and other devices.

Work is performed with some independence, following policies and procedures. Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED with college coursework in computing and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with college courses in computer science / MIS / information technology.
• Experience with personal computers, hardware, and software applications (Microsoft Office).
• Valid Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Acquire, operate, maintain and troubleshoot electronic equipment within the Fleet Division.
• Setup, maintenance and troubleshooting of Personal Computers and other electronic equipment.
• Download and install software and provide training to program users.
• Data entry of all Fleet work orders.
• Work with some independence while adhering to policies and procedures.
