Job summary

Tucson Electric Power is seeking a Fleet Specifications Specialist to develop, manage, and maintain technical specifications for fleet vehicles and equipment supporting electric and gas operations. You will ensure compliance with safety, regulatory standards and evolving technology needs including electrification.

Responsibilities include maintaining documentation, coordinating with internal teams and external suppliers, and supporting fleet modernization initiatives while traveling to locations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 5+ years of experience in fleet management, vehicle specification, or utility operations.
• Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a shop environment.
• Knowledge of utility fleet equipment and vocational truck configurations.
• Familiarity with CAD drawings, specification writing, and technical documentation.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements (DOT, OSHA).
• Knowledge of telematics and fleet software systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage technical specifications for all fleet vehicles and equipment.
• Maintain centralized specification documentation in records systems such as Laserfiche.
• Ensure specifications comply with safety, regulatory, and operational requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design optimized vehicle configurations and standardization initiatives.
• Coordinate fleet purchasing activities in alignment with procurement policies and processes.
• Verify delivered vehicles meet approved specifications and requirements.
• Support deployment readiness including training for operators and fleet staff.
