Job summary

Zoox is seeking to advance its fleet simulation capabilities within the Core Data Science team. You will build a self-service simulation environment that lets data scientists and ML engineers measure the impact of dispatch, routing, and vehicle assignment algorithms on fleet efficiency.

You will connect disparate simulation components with data and orchestration algorithms, establish best practices, and collaborate with data science, ML, and fleet teams to drive the simulation roadmap.

Qualifications

• Proficient Python development in production environments.
• Experience building tools for non-specialist users.
• Familiarity with Git version control.
• Experience with microservices and distributed systems.
• Experience with simulation or fleet orchestration.

Responsibilities

• Turn existing fleet-simulation components into a self-service environment.
• Fill gaps between simulation, data, and fleet-orchestration algorithms.
• Build generalizable mechanisms to measure orchestration impact on fleet efficiency.
• Collaborate with data science, ML, and fleet teams to shape the simulation roadmap.
• Establish best practices around simulation, evaluation, and data-driven decision-making.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
