Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Software Engineer for the Core Data team to build foundational vehicle data systems. You will work on capturing, persisting, moving, and retrieving data generated by Zoox’s fleet of robots and integrate with real-time engineering workflows.

The role involves high-speed data, constrained compute/storage, multi-host architectures, and fault-tolerant design, blending hands-on coding with systems-level problem solving and long-term architecture influence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, engineering or related field.
• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in modern C++.
• Experience with multithreading, concurrency, inter-process communication, or networking.
• Excellent problem-solving and cross-team communication.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the technical architecture and implementation of Zoox’s on-vehicle data systems.
• Design and develop reliable, high-performance systems for capturing, storing, retrieving, and transmitting vehicle data with strict real-time and resource constraints.
• Own complex technical problems from initial investigation through design, implementation, validation, and rollout.
• Collaborate across teams through requirements definition, design reviews, and code reviews.
