Job summary

FedEx Freight is seeking a maintenance technician to support shop duties for a vehicle fleet including tractors and trailers. You will assist with inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs and documentation to ensure a safe, efficient fleet.

Strong teamwork and the ability to lift heavy components are essential. The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work independently or with others.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid drivers license.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Able to lift components weighing up to 110 pounds with equipment or assistance.
• Ability to safely operate vehicles as directed.
• Must be able to enter/exit drivers compartment using handholds.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preventative maintenance and repairs on tractors, trailers and related equipment.
• Support shop operations: job setup, cleaning and equipment maintenance.
• Prepare electronic and manual records and reports.
• Assist with safety inspections and documentation of work.
• Move parts to/from job site and install as directed.
• Assist with fleet maintenance activities.
• Maintain a clean work environment.
• Use power and hand tools as directed by leadership.
• Comply with laws, regulations and company policies.
