Job summary

Transdev in West Palm Beach, FL is seeking a Tech in Charge to supervise technicians, oversee diagnostics, and guide complex repairs on a wide range of vehicles and equipment. You will manage training, performance, and shop operations while ensuring safety, DOT, OSHA, and company standards are met.

The role requires 3+ years of automotive repair experience with supervisory responsibilities, a valid CDL Class B, and ASE certification.

Qualifications

• Advanced mechanical aptitude and 3+ years of automotive or diesel repair experience.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician role or similar management role.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Strong experience with computers, web-based applications, and computerized diagnostics.
• Familiarity with DOT, OSHA and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee diagnostics on complex repairs and coach technicians.
• Maintain advanced knowledge of engine, transmission, electrical and HVAC systems for preventive and repair maintenance.
• Supervise technicians, conduct training, and evaluate performance; handle personnel decisions.
• Manage shop inventory and approve expenses; coordinate major repairs with management.
• Schedule fleet maintenance and coordinate with dispatch and other operations personnel.
• Conduct quality control inspections and ensure safety/compliance.
