The City of Charlotte is seeking a Fleet Shop Supervisor to lead a team of ASE & EVT automotive, diesel, and equipment technicians in the Fleet Management Division. This role focuses on ensuring reliability and readiness of the City’s diverse fleet to support essential services.

You will supervise daily shop operations, coordinate staffing, monitor performance metrics, and maintain safety and compliance across the shop. Strong leadership and communication are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Broad knowledge and hands-on experience in repair and maintenance of light, medium, and heavy-duty fleet equipment.
• Proficient in using computer-based FMIS to track maintenance, repairs, and performance metrics.
• Ability to learn cloud-based financial software for monitoring purchase orders, invoice processing, and budget tracking.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) for reporting, communication, and documentation.

Responsabilités

• Provide hands-on leadership and guidance to technicians, fostering teamwork, safety, and accountability.
• Coordinate daily operations, including staff scheduling and shift management to ensure efficient service delivery.
• Serve as liaison between shop and City departments, communicating fleet availability and service timelines.
• Monitor performance metrics, track repair progress, and optimize workflows to ensure timely work orders.
• Oversee shop safety and equipment maintenance, maintaining a clean and compliant work environment.
