Job summary

Kids for the Future is seeking a Fleet Shop Foreman to oversee daily shop operations and coordinate maintenance and repair of company vehicles and equipment. The role requires a minimum of five years in large-scale automotive programs with supervisory experience and a valid Texas driver’s license, ASE Heavy Trucks certification, and A/C certification.

Work is performed both indoors and outdoors in a dynamic mechanical shop.

Qualifications

• Modern methods of maintaining and repairing automotive, road construction, and heavy equipment.
• Knowledge of gasoline and diesel engine operation and maintenance.
• Understanding of public services and municipal vehicle equipment.
• Familiarity with company policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily shop operations and participate in maintenance/repair of company vehicles and equipment.
• Provide technical assistance for shop problems and act as on-road contact for issues.
• Establish and maintain vehicle/equipment records and inventories.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate subordinates; monitor fueling and warehouse equipment upkeep.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Fleet Shop Foreman

Experience Required: Minimum of 5 (five) years of experience in a large-scale program of automotive equipment (diesel). Knowledge of equipment maintenance and repair with supervisory experience.

Primary Work Location: Work is performed both inside and outside.

Certification: Valid State of Texas driver’s license. Class C required within six (6) months, A/C Certification, and ASE Certification in Heavy Trucks.

Job Summary: Responsible for the supervision of daily shop operations and participating in the maintenance and repair of company owned vehicles and equipment.

Essential Job Functions

The Manager in this position may be called upon to do any or all of the following essential duties:

• Supervise and participate in the daily maintenance and repair of a large number of Company owned cars, trucks, heavy equipment, small engine equipment, mowers, etc.
• Provide technical assistance in work problems encountered at the shop.
• Point of contact for on the road issues.
• Establish and maintain vehicle and equipment operating and maintenance records.
• Make recommendations for replacement items.
• Inspect, repair, and maintain equipment and vehicles.
• Help determine inventory, levels, parts, and supplies, order parts and supplies.
• Maintain and prepare reports.
• Train, supervise, and evaluate subordinates.
• Monitor Fueling – both on site and ComData (DEF).
• Refrigeration on RCP warehouses and Chicho Boys
• Maintaining the maintenance of warehouse equipment (Forklifts, pallet jacks, batteries, overhead doors, dock bumpers, plates, warehouse repairs gate repairs.
• Perform other job duties as assigned.

Physical Demands

The work is medium work which requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. The following physical abilities are required:

• Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling while walking, standing or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces. The amount of balancing exceeds that needed for ordinary locomotion and maintenance of body equilibrium.
• Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Body agility is emphasized.
• Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
• Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
