Constellis is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to supervise a large automotive and equipment repair shop in Los Angeles. The role requires organizing work, guiding staff, and enforcing safety standards while coordinating maintenance programs.

Responsibilities include directing daily activities, training technicians, ordering parts, and estimating costs. The position may involve extended hours and outdoor work in variable weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical automotive repair training with 3 years of related experience.
  • Valid Commercial Driver's License (A/B/C with endorsements may be required).
  • ASE Master Automotive Technician certification may be required.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and time-management.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Plan, organize, assign, and direct the work activities of subordinate staff to meet unit goals.
  • Counsel subordinate staff to exchange information and explain policies and guidelines.
  • Identify work-related problems and formulate solutions.
  • Review performance and advise actions per standards.
  • Train staff to maintain production levels.
  • Establish preventative maintenance programs and schedules for equipment.
  • Order parts, materials, and equipment for repair and maintenance functions.
  • Estimate repair and maintenance costs for projects/jobs.
  • Maintain work records.
  • Assist technicians with complex repair duties.
  • Enforce workplace safety regulations.
  • Work outside in varying weather and extended hours as needed.

Position Summary

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for supervising a large automotive/equipment repair shop.

Pay Transparency/Compensation

$70,000/annually

Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, assign, and direct the work activities of subordinate staff to realize the unit's work goals and to ensure the consistent application of unit and/or technical policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Confer with and counsel subordinate staff to exchange information and/or explain work policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Identify work-related problems, problem characteristics, impact and formulate possible solutions
  • Review and compare work performance and/or products of subordinate staff with established standards to determine for recommendation to agency management, appropriate personnel actions such as promotions, disciplinary actions, status changes, separations, and grievance dispositions
  • Train subordinate staff in work principles, policies and/or procedures to maintain and/or improve the production levels of employees in accordance with established work performance standards
  • Establishes preventative maintenance programs and schedules equipment for service
  • Orders parts, materials, supplies and equipment for repair and maintenance functions
  • Estimates repair and maintenance costs for projects/jobs
  • Maintains work records
  • Assist subordinate Technicians with complex repair duties and projects
  • Enforces workplace safety regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Work is typically based in a busy service center/maintenance garage environment and subject to frequent interruptions. Frequent work outside and in inclement weather conditions is required, including heat, cold and humidity. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. Must be willing to wear Personal Protective Equipment as required by established Company Safety Standards. Normal work hours are in two shifts, Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, however some extended or weekend hours may also be required.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Vocational/Technical training in automotive repair with 3 years of related experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Must have a valid Commercial Driver's License (A, B, or C with specific endorsements may be required)
  • ASE Master Automotive Technician and/or Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician Certifications may be required
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite
  • May require possession of one or more ASE Certifications
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and multiple priorities to completion
  • Problem solving skills with an analytical thought process
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Must be able to lift, lower, carry, push or move objects up to 50 lbs. Various tasks may require intermittent standing or prolonged sitting, and the ability to walk, reach, kneel, crouch and handle work related supplies and tools. Additional details related to physical requirements may be outlined in the Company's Performance Work Statement or Contract with the client.
