City of Midland, TX is seeking a skilled fleet mechanic to remove/install wheels and tires, balance service calls, and perform preventive maintenance on a range of equipment. You will inspect for wear, respond to towing requests, and manage work orders with the department program AssetWorks.

The role requires a high school diploma or 5 years of fleet experience, a Texas driver’s license (CDL preferred), and a Texas Inspection License or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of fleet service experience.
• Valid Texas Driver’s license; CDL preferred.
• State of Texas Inspection License or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Ability to work in extreme temperatures and to lift heavy equipment.

Responsabilités

• Remove and install wheels and tires; inspect for wear/defects.
• Respond to towing and service requests.
• Perform preventative maintenance on light and heavy equipment.
• Clean and maintain shop facilities and tools.
• Inspect vehicles for state inspection sticker.
• Open and close work orders; issue and track parts.
