Job summary

Walmart Inc. in Hope Mills, NC is seeking a Service Shop Repair Technician for 2nd shift to keep our transportation equipment in safe, road-ready condition.

You will perform repairs on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop equipment, using diagnostic tools and documenting work to support warranty claims and service records. You will create work orders, assess parts needs, perform inspections, and ensure DOT compliance while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair or a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualified as defined in FMCSA regulations, 396.25.
• Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in FMCSA regulations, 396.19.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles).
• Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, consult as needed, and select repair solutions.
• Conduct minor diagnostics using technical/electronic equipment on engines, electronics, drivetrains, and minor HVAC.
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and required paperwork.
• Identify warrantable repairs and complete accurate maintenance entries, warranty tags, parts retention, and warranty claims per guidelines.
