Job summary

Walmart Inc. is seeking a Service Shop Preventative Maintenance Technician in Smyrna, DE for the 2nd shift. You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop equipment, following DOT guidelines.

The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, documentation, and safety compliance. As part of Walmart Transportation, you will help maintain a reliable fleet, ensure on-time delivery, and support operational goals.

Qualifications

• Experience performing preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on trailers/tractors or similar heavy equipment.
• Working knowledge of brake systems (air/ABS/disc) and tire service.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles)
• Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, and select repair solutions
• Repair/replace brake components, wheel seals, and tractor‑trailer tires per DOT requirements
• Communicate updates and complete required logs, records, and computer‑based documentation
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and paperwork
