Job summary

Upstate Niagara Cooperative, Inc. is seeking a Distribution Safety Manager to lead safety strategies across a large-scale distribution network and ensure DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA compliance.

You will coach drivers, analyze camera data, and drive injury reduction with measurable outcomes. The role requires frequent travel to operational sites, strong leadership, and a proven track record in safety management within transportation or distribution environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Occupational Health and Safety, Transportation, Logistics, or related field.
• 5+ years of safety management experience in transportation, logistics or distribution.
• Strong knowledge of DOT, OSHA and FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safety performance for approximately 250 drivers with data-driven insights to identify trends and high-risk behaviors.
• Lead risk and injury reduction strategies across distribution and fleet operations with measurable outcomes.
• Analyze inward-facing camera data to detect unsafe driving behaviors and coach accordingly.
• Conduct risk assessments and safety audits across facilities and transportation operations; translate findings into mitigation plans.
• Collaborate with Operations and Distribution leadership to design preventive safety programs and driver scorecards.
• Travel to distribution centers and field locations to observe operations and ensure safety standards are implemented.
• Lead root cause investigations for accidents, injuries, and near-misses and implement corrective actions.
• Develop targeted safety training focused on high-risk activities and defensive driving techniques.
