Job summary

SpartanNash is seeking a Fleet Safety & Compliance Administrator to oversee DOT/FMCSA(OSHA/EPA) compliance across assigned fleet operations at our Bluefield, VA site.

The role requires 2–3+ years in safety or transportation, strong Excel skills, and the ability to train staff. You will manage driver files, DVIRs, HOS audits, and post‑accident testing procedures as part of a comprehensive safety program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2–3+ years of experience in safety, transportation and over‑the‑road carriers.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA/ OSHA/EPA regulations related to fleet compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to provide effective training.
• Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Administer the CMV fleet safety program including procedures, audits and inspections.
• Collect and analyze data from fleet telematics and escalate potential issues for resolution.
• Provide updates based on evaluations/observations; address compliance gaps with leadership.
• Maintain driver qualification files, audit HOS, UVA and DVIRs for compliance.
• Partner with transportation leadership on compliance concerns and issue resolution.
• Gather documentation for roadside inspections and file with the state as required.
• Administer DOT drug and alcohol program including notifications and tracking.
• Record vehicle collisions and ensure post‑accident testing when required.
• Maintain relationships with transportation management to support fleet safety programs.
