Job summary

The Maine Department of Transportation in Augusta, ME is seeking maintenance personnel for Yard Crew at Fleet Services. You will perform construction, repair, and upkeep of vehicles, equipment, buildings, bridges, and roadways, using hand tools and heavy equipment under direct supervision.

To qualify, you must be 18+, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and obtain a Class A CDL with Haz-Mat endorsement (or the ability to obtain).

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain required licenses/certifications (CDL with Haz-Mat, Class B within 6 months).
• Long hours in challenging conditions and exposure to heavy equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance and repair of vehicles, equipment, buildings, bridges, and roadways.
• Operate hand power tools and heavy equipment as directed.
• Work under direct supervision and meet licensing requirements for CDL/Haz-Mat.
