Job summary

Maine Department of Transportation seeks candidates for the Yard Crew at Fleet Services headquarters in Augusta, ME. You will perform maintenance on vehicles, equipment, buildings, bridges, and roads, using hand tools and heavy equipment under supervision.

Applicants must be 18+, possess a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to obtain a Class A CDL with Haz-Mat endorsement. Some certifications and licenses must be obtained within specified timeframes.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be able to obtain Class A CDL with Haz-Mat endorsement; CDL required by first day of employment.
• Shall obtain and retain a valid Class B license within six months of starting.

Responsibilities

• Perform general transportation infrastructure maintenance for Fleet Services Yard Crew.
• Operate hand tools and heavy equipment; perform repairs on vehicles, buildings, bridges, and roadways.
• Work long hours under adverse conditions under direct supervision.
