Walmart Transportation in Douglas, GA is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop/service vehicles, while following DOT guidelines and company policy.

The role emphasizes hands-on problem solving, clear documentation, and teamwork to improve equipment uptime and reduce breakdowns.

Qualifications

• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
• Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.
• Preferred: Microsoft Office ASE Certification - Certification, DOT Transportation Certification - Certification

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles)
• Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, and select repair solutions
• Repair/replace brake components, wheel seals, and tractor‑trailer tires per DOT requirements
• Communicate updates and complete required logs, records, and computer‑based documentation
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and paperwork
