Job summary

Walmart is seeking a Preventative Maintenance Technician in Valdosta, GA to keep our fleet safe, reliable, and road-ready. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop vehicles while following DOT guidelines and company standards.

Responsibilities include creating work orders, diagnosing needs, and documenting repairs; communicating status and logs, and ensuring safety compliance and fuel procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Valid state-issued driver's license.
• Brake inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.25.
• Vehicle Inspection qualified as defined in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration regulations, Section 396.19.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic to intermediate inspections, preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles).
• Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, and select repair solutions
• Repair/replace brake components, wheel seals, and tractor-trailer tires per DOT requirements
• Communicate updates and complete required logs, records, and computer-based documentation
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and paperwork
