Job summary

Walmart Transportation seeks a Preventative Maintenance Technician to maintain a safe, reliable fleet of trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop vehicles. You will perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs while following DOT guidelines and company procedures.

You will create work orders, diagnose issues, and select parts to implement effective repair solutions, while maintaining logs and safety records. This role supports a dependable network delivering for the business.

Qualifications

• Experience performing preventative maintenance and mechanical repairs on trailers/tractors or similar heavy equipment.
• Working knowledge of brake systems (air/ABS/disc) and tire service (dismount/install).
• Ability to follow DOT guidelines and shop safety procedures consistently.

Responsibilities

• Keep Walmart Transportation moving by ensuring the fleet is safe and road-ready; perform inspections, maintenance, and repairs on trailers, tractors, yard trucks, and shop vehicles.
• Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, and select repair solutions.
• Repair or replace brake components, wheel seals, and tires per DOT requirements.
• Communicate updates and complete logs and documentation in systems.
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/analyze fuel paperwork.
