Job summary

Walmart Transportation is seeking a Service Shop Repair Technician to help keep our fleet in top condition. You will perform inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and replacements across trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, and service vehicles, using technical tools and documenting work for warranty and compliance.

You’ll ensure repairs are done right the first time, support warranty processes, and maintain thorough maintenance records.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications: 2 years' experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance.
• Valid state-issued driver's license. Brake inspection qualification as per FMCSA 396.25. Vehicle Inspection qualification as per FMCSA 396.19.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor to intermediate inspections, repairs, and replacements on Walmart equipment (trailers, tractors, yard trucks, shop equipment, service vehicles)
• Create and process work orders; assess needs, identify parts, consult as needed, and select repair solutions
• Conduct minor diagnostics using technical/electronic equipment on engines, electronics, drivetrains, communication/onboard technology, and minor HVAC
• Receive fuel drops, monitor safety compliance, and collect/prepare fuel samples and required paperwork
• Identify warrantable repairs and complete accurate maintenance entries, warranty tags, parts retention, and warranty claims per guidelines
