Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Fleet Prep Technician to join our team in Bedford, TX. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, maintaining, and ensuring the safety and reliability of our vehicle fleet through systematic inspection, maintenance, and preparation procedures.
- Ensure all vehicles are clean, stocked, and prepped for delivery to the correct location.
- Complete all assigned tasks proficiently.
- Ensure the safe operation of emergency vehicles in compliance with federal, state, and local laws, as well as CareFlite policies.
- Shuttle vehicles for repairs and service as needed.
- Wash and detail vehicles to prepare them for delivery, including washing exteriors, cleaning interiors, vacuuming carpets, and wiping down surfaces.
- Assist the Fleet Services Manager in tracking vehicle readiness and preparation.
- Communicate vendor performance issues to the Fleet Service Advisor.
- Transport vehicles safely to and from facilities, inspecting and reporting issues to the service advisor.
- Collaborate with the Fleet Services Manager to address and resolve mechanical or monitoring device issues reported by crews.
- Contribute to achieving KPIs and performance goals by adhering to department standards.
- Approach problem solving positively and use the chain of command appropriately to resolve work issues.
- Exercise sound judgment and objectivity in decision-making.
- Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and oral forms.
- Work independently to initiate and complete tasks without continual supervision.
- Maintain ethical, courteous, and professional behavior, reflecting well on CareFlite, and adhere to the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
- Promote teamwork and cooperation with CareFlite personnel and external vendors.

Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current Texas Class C driver’s license.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding patients and personnel information.
- Current City of Dallas Shuttle Permit or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Physical and mental requirements include the ability to make decisions with moderate impact, understand and follow instructions, communicate effectively, and perform tasks while standing or walking up to 100% of the time, with manual dexterity.
