Job summary

U-Haul in Columbus, GA is seeking a preventive maintenance technician to service Ford and GMC trucks and keep our fleet road-ready for customers. You will perform preventive maintenance, oil changes, tire and brake work, and conduct a safety pre-inspection.

We provide hands-on training through Ford, GMC and U-Haul programs, tools provided, and opportunities for advancement. A paid hands-on interview and a $100 hiring bonus are part of the onboarding.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience preferred.
• Driver's license
• The ability to work as part of a team as well as individually
• Basic computer skills
• Regular attendance
• The work involves manual labor and the ability to work safely and to be alert at all times.

Responsibilities

• Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
• Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes and replace minor parts.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Occasionally road-test vehicles using a proprietary electronic pre-inspection checklist.
• Team Members are expected to lend assistance in additional areas as necessary, following the supervisor's guidance.
