Job summary

U-Haul is seeking a preventive maintenance technician to service the latest fleet of Ford and GMC trucks. You'll perform oil changes, brake and tire maintenance, lubrication, and periodic inspections using our electronic pre-inspection checklist.

This role offers hands-on training through Ford, GMC, and U-Haul programs and opportunities for advancement. Working on-site in Eugene, Oregon, you will join a team focused on safety, reliability, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical aptitude and repair experience are required or preferred.
• Driver's license is required to operate company vehicles.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
• Basic computer skills for inspection checklists and records.
• Regular attendance and reliability are expected.
• Willingness to participate in training programs and grow skills.

Responsibilities

• Secure trucks on lifts and ramps.
• Lubricate suspensions, perform oil changes and replace minor parts.
• Perform tire and brake maintenance.
• Occasionally road-test vehicles.
• Use a proprietary pre-inspection checklist.
• Assist in other areas as needed as directed by supervisor.
