Job summary

Suffolk is hiring a Parts Specialist in the Fleet Management Division. Under supervision, you will manage a large stock of automotive and heavy equipment parts, process orders from mechanics, and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely delivery.

You will also maintain inventory, verify invoices, and support the fleet team with accurate parts data. The role requires high school completion, 2 years of parts supply experience, a valid driver’s license, and forklift operation capability.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• 2 years of experience in vehicle and equipment supply acquisition or equivalent.
• Requires valid driver’s license.
• Parts Specialist ASE certification is preferred.
• Forklift Operator certification, or obtain within 6 months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Research and issue automotive and heavy equipment parts for fleet personnel.
• Maintain stockroom, receive and review parts, and update inventory levels.
• Use online vendors and diagrams to select correct parts and obtain quotes.
• Work with outside vendors to obtain parts via multiple methods.
• Inspect, verify, and record part orders; process returns and core charges.
• Drive city vehicle to obtain parts; operate forklift, pallet jack, and hand truck.
• Answer calls and handle customer and vendor inquiries; follow up on ETA and defects.
