Job summary

This Transportation Assistant position is located at the Charles George VA Medical Center in Asheville, NC within the Environmental Management Service (EMS) Fleet. A Selective Placement Factor requires a current valid state driver's license.

This role supports accurate vehicle records and fleet operations. Specialized duties include entering data, maintaining records, coordinating repairs with vendors, and reviewing invoices to ensure accuracy while promoting safe and efficient fleet management

Qualifications

• Select placement factor requires a current valid state driver's license.
• One full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-05 in the Federal Service, related to Transportation Assistant duties.

Responsibilities

• Entering vehicle data and maintaining vehicle records such as fuel use, maintenance history, and accident data.
• Preparing accident reports or damage claims and coordinating repairs with vendors.
• Tracking vehicle usage, mileage, maintenance, and repair costs to identify fleet trends.
• Reviewing vehicle-related invoices or billing for accuracy.
