Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates degree or an equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Five years' experience and/or extensive knowledge of fleet management, mechanical repairs, or equivalent
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance principles and practices
• Understanding of budgeting principles and safety management concepts
• Familiarity with relevant local, state, and federal vehicle operation laws and regulations

Responsibilities

• Plan and administer preventative maintenance and vehicle replacement programs with contracted fleet companies.
• Ensure vehicles and equipment are licensed and registered as required by state law.
• Coordinate maintenance and repair of all agency-owned vehicles.
• Support asset risk management training with the Risk Manager.
• Process accident and damage reports and investigate causes to prevent recurrences.
• Monitor vehicle and equipment utilization and expenditures; report monthly.
