Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a Manager, Fleet Operations to lead fleet maintenance across multiple garages, ensuring reliable, safe, and cost-effective operations for 500–1500 units. You will recruit, develop, and manage staff while aligning with customer needs and organizational goals.

Responsibilities include safety, performance metrics, budget adherence, and collaboration with operations managers to improve efficiency and service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Transportation, Logistics, Engineering, or equivalent.
• Seven years’ experience in fleet/garage management or related field.
• Strong leadership and project management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and valid driver’s license.
• Ability to schedule and manage work activities to meet customer requirements.
• Experience with IT systems and scheduling tools.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of assigned garage operations including maintenance, parts, diagnostics and QA.
• Establish production goals, quality controls, procedures, and budgets.
• Maintain safe work environment through safety meetings, audits, and staffing.
• Prioritize maintenance/workflow to meet fleet and service requirements.
• Lead bi-weekly meetings with operations managers to improve efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with bargaining unit agreements and vendor contracts.
