Job summary

The Smithsonian Institution is seeking a Motor Vehicle Operator Leader to help manage work schedules and lead a team of Motor Vehicle Operators and Engineering Equipment Operators across Pennsy Facility (Landover, MD), Garber Facility (Suitland, MD), and National Zoological Park (Washington, DC).

Responsibilities include prioritizing work, developing shuttle schedules, preparing reports, and maintaining vehicle/inventory records; candidates must meet medical, background, and CDL requirements and

Qualifications

• Pass pre-employment background investigation.
• Must hold CDL Class B with P Endorsement and provide photocopy.
• Must meet medical requirements.
• Clean driving record with no major violations.
• May work late shifts, weekends and holidays; travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with work schedules and lead Motor Vehicle Operators and Engineering Equipment Operators across three locations.
• Develop and evaluate shuttle service schedules and analyze cost efficiency.
• Prepare monthly status reports for the supervisor.
• Maintain records for vehicle and heavy equipment inventory.
