Job summary

The Center for Disability Services in Albany is seeking Mechanics for the Transportation Department. Maintain and service a fleet of over 65 buses and vans, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, and be prepared to drive on relief or emergency basis during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Expect boot and tool allowances; CDL endorsement training provided if needed. Strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and readiness to support programs across the Capital Region.

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver’s License B or C with passenger endorsement; will train to get a CDL if needed.
• At least 5 years of experience, specifically in automotive repair or service and driving.
• Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all department vehicles and equipment in proper and safe operating condition and to comply with all department policies and DOT Regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to a fleet of over 80 buses and vans.
• Incumbent will be required to fill in as vehicle driver on a relief or emergency basis, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
