Job summary

The Center for Disability Services’ Transportation Department in the Capital Region is seeking an experienced Mechanic to keep our fleet of over 80 buses and vans in safe, reliable working order. You will perform preventative maintenance and repairs, ensure compliance with DOT regulations, and may drive on relief or emergency assignments with light dispatch duties during evenings, weekends and holidays.

CDL B or C endorsement and NY DMV certification are required, with training to obtain a CDL

Qualifications

• 5+ years of automotive repair or service experience.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds independently.
• Must hold CDL B or C with passenger endorsement (training to obtain CDL if needed).
• NY DMV certification for drivers is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on fleet of 80+ buses and vans.

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs to the fleet. Fill in as vehicle driver on relief or emergency basis and perform basic dispatch duties on evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver’s License B or C with passenger endorsement; training to obtain an CDL if needed.
• At least 5 years of experience in automotive repair or service and driving.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds independently.
• Drivers must be certified by the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles.

Compensation

$26.00 - $30.00 per hour.
