Job summary

Arlington Trolley in Arlington, TX is seeking skilled automotive technicians to maintain buses and support equipment with a strong safety-first mindset. You will diagnose, repair, and service vehicle systems to ensure safe daily service for riders.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED and have 1–2 years of heavy equipment maintenance or equivalent experience, plus diagnostic software skills. This full-time on-site role requires teamwork and reliability in a 24/7 operation.

  • Hands-on electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, diagnose, repair and replace brake systems, fuel and emission systems, drivetrains, steering and suspension.
  • Test-drive/operate light duty vehicles, trucks, buses and support equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and lubrication tasks.
  • Use hoists, jacks, and lifting equipment to inspect and repair vehicles.
  • Maintain records and work history in electronic repair orders.
  • Provide training and guidance to lower-level personnel.
  • Assist in safety and maintenance compliance and 24/7 coverage as needed.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults; troubleshoot technical issues.

  • Maintainsand creates records and work history within electronic repair orders.
  • Inspect/ diagnose / repair / replace brake systems, fuel and emission systems,drivelines, steering and suspension systems, passenger heating/coolingsystems, etc. to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
  • Useof in-ground and above-ground hoists as well as portable hoists andhydraulic jacks to raise equipment for inspection and repair.
  • Perform routine preventativemaintenance inspections and procedures such as changing oil and filters,lubricating steering, suspension and brake components, batterymaintenance, compressed natural gas tank inspections, etc.
  • Testdrive/operate light duty vehicles, trucks, buses and support equipment todiagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Inspect, adjust, repair and replace protective guards,loose components, and specified safety devices.
  • Vehiclechassis alignments.
  • Replace,repair, and perform routine maintenance on internal combustion engines toinclude gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel in addition totransmissions and differential units.
  • Repairand adjust seats, doors, and windows, interior and exterior trim and hardware. Install, diagnoseand repair/replace vehicle accessories.

  • Performsservice calls on vehicles and equipment.
