Job summary

RATP Dev USA in Greensboro is seeking an Engineering/Maintenance Manager/Expert to lead transit vehicle maintenance and ensure passenger safety in a 24/7 operation.

You will diagnose, repair, and maintain buses and subsystems, using Cummins Insite and Allison DOC, while keeping accurate repair records and coordinating with a team to keep vehicles safe and reliable.

Qualifications

  • Evidence of a safety first attitude.
  • One year progressive heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Two years technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft).
  • Ability to read schematics and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect/diagnose/repair brake systems, fuel/emission systems, drivelines, steering, suspensions.
  • Test drive/inspect light duty vehicles, trucks, buses and equipment.
  • Maintain records in electronic repair orders.
  • Repair/adjust engines, transmissions, differentials.
  • Use powered and hand tools along with Cummins Insite and Allison DOC.

  • Usehand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges,precision instruments, HVAC recovery equipment, as well as power toolssuch as pneumatic wrenches and hydraulic presses in addition to computerprograms such as Cummins Insite and Allison DOC.
  • Maintainsand creates records and work history within electronic repair orders.
  • Inspect/ diagnose / repair / replace brake systems, fuel and emission systems,drivelines, steering and suspension systems, passenger heating/coolingsystems, etc. to ensure that they are in proper operating condition with guidance.
  • Useof in-ground and above-ground hoists as well as portable hoists andhydraulic jacks to raise equipment for inspection and repair.
  • Perform routine preventativemaintenance inspections and procedures such as changing oil and filters,lubricating steering, suspension and brake components, batterymaintenance, compressed natural gas tank inspections, etc.
  • Testdrive/operate light duty vehicles, trucks, buses and support equipment todiagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
  • Inspect, adjust, repair and replace protective guards,loose components, and specified safety devices.
  • Vehiclechassis alignments.
  • Replace,repair, and perform routine maintenance on internal combustion engines toinclude gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel in addition totransmissions and differential units.
  • Repairand adjust seats, doors, and windows, interior and exterior trim and hardware. Install, diagnoseand repair/replace vehicle accessories.
  • Emissionrelated diagnosis and repairs.
  • Performsservice calls on vehicles and equipment.
  • Performsrelated duties as assigned.

Education Requirement

Education
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Minimumof one-two yearsof vocational/technical schooling or equivalent work experience.
  • ComputerSkills Basic computer skills with the ability to learn new programs as required.
  • Certificates& Licenses All positions require avalidCommercial Driver’s License (CDL) class B with Passenger endorsement. Seeexperience and qualifications for necessary licenses and certifications.
  • OtherRequirements: Must provide own hand tools as necessary toperform the assigned work.
  • Mustpass Department of Transportation (DOT) pre-employment physical and drugscreening.
  • Nocriminal convictions or DWI, DUI,assault, or possession of controlled substances within the last 5 years.Must be able to complete and pass pre-employment performance evaluation.Department of Transportation (DOT) physical, drug and alcohol screen andbackground investigation and pre-employment assessments and tests.
  • Must be flexible. Position may require night, weekend and holiday hours.

Pay: $25.49 per hour
