Job summary

Arlington Trolley seeks an experienced Maintenance Manager/Expert to uphold safety and reliability of our transit fleet in Arlington, TX. You will diagnose and repair heavy equipment, read schematics, and perform preventive maintenance on buses, with strong emphasis on safety and confidentiality.

The role requires hands-on troubleshooting, use of diagnostic software (Cummins Insite, Allison DOC), and the ability to work 24/7 shifts as needed to keep our buses in optimal condition.

Qualifications

• Evidence of a safety-first attitude.
• One year progressive heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
• Two years technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Must have computer skills to repair sub-components of buses.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose brake, fuel, emission systems and driveline components to ensure proper operation.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, lubrication, and battery maintenance.
• Test drive and operate vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and verify repairs.
• Repair and replace vehicle components, adjust seats/doors, and service safety devices.
• Maintain accurate repair records and history in electronic systems.

• Hands on experience in electricaland mechanical troubleshooting
• Usehand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, pressure gauges,precision instruments, HVAC recovery equipment, as well as power toolssuch as pneumatic wrenches and hydraulic presses in addition to computerprograms such as Cummins Insite and Allison DOC.
• Maintainsand creates records and work history within electronic repair orders.
• Inspect/ diagnose / repair / replace brake systems, fuel and emission systems,drivelines, steering and suspension systems, passenger heating/coolingsystems, etc. to ensure that they are in proper operating condition.
• Useof in-ground and above-ground hoists as well as portable hoists andhydraulic jacks to raise equipment for inspection and repair.
• Perform routine preventativemaintenance inspections and procedures such as changing oil and filters,lubricating steering, suspension and brake components, batterymaintenance, compressed natural gas tank inspections, etc.
• Testdrive/operate light duty vehicles, trucks, buses and support equipment todiagnose malfunctions or to ensure that they are working properly.
• Inspect, adjust, repair and replace protective guards,loose components, and specified safety devices.
• Vehiclechassis alignments.
• Replace,repair, and perform routine maintenance on internal combustion engines toinclude gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel in addition totransmissions and differential units.
• Repairand adjust seats, doors, and windows, interior and exterior trim and hardware. Install, diagnoseand repair/replace vehicle accessories.
• Emissionrelated diagnosis and repairs.
• Performsservice calls on vehicles and equipment.
• Assists in training of lower-level personnel
• Performsbackfill supervisory duties as required
