Job summary

Global Medical Response in New York is hiring for an entry-level Fleet Mechanic helper. Starting hourly wage of $28.00 based on experience.

You will perform light mechanical and electrical repairs on AMR fleet vehicles and provide logistical support as assigned. Responsibilities include responding to breakdowns, maintaining safety and paperwork, using the maintenance database, and attending mandatory fleet training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year verifiable Line Mechanic or Mechanic Helper experience.
• 2 ASE Certifications (Truck or Automotive) preferred (Brake/Steering/Suspension).
• Basic set of personal tools required.

Responsibilities

• Performs light mechanical and electrical repairs on AMR vehicles.
• Responds to vehicle breakdowns in the field when requested.
• Provides logistical support for the department and assists Front Line Mechanics as needed.
• Operates company vehicles in accordance with policy and safe practices.
• Completes all required paperwork and documentation using AMR repair orders.
• Uses maintenance database to document all completed tasks / job assignments.
• Attends mandatory Fleet-related training.
• Adheres to company policies and information systems security.
• Repairs vehicles correctly and promptly while adapting to changing priorities.
• Maintains safe and clean work area and keeps accurate parts accounting.
