Job summary

Horry County Schools is seeking a Fleet Mechanic I to perform skilled maintenance and repair of school buses (diesel and gas) and fleet vehicles. The role requires knowledge of engines, brakes, transmissions, and preventive maintenance.

You will maintain service records, respond to service calls, and work under supervision to meet safety and performance standards. This on-site position supports the district's transportation needs and requires CDL eligibility within four months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Valid South Carolina Driver's License with CDL or ability to obtain CDL within four months.
• Ability to diagnose, repair and document maintenance and repairs.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of diesel and gas engines, transmissions, and brakes.
• Keep records of all services and repairs.
• Perform preventive maintenance and safety procedures.
• Repair equipment including small engines, lawnmowers, generators, and tractors.
