Job summary

Cemex US seeks a Mechanic Fleet to perform maintenance and repair on mobile equipment in company shops or on public roadways, ensuring maximum availability through proactive maintenance programs.

The role involves diagnosing electrical and hydraulic systems, performing brake checks, and coordinating with supervisors to prioritize work. Must have own tools and English proficiency; bilinguals are a plus.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience required.
• Be able to read, write, and speak English.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical problems and perform mechanical repairs and maintenance to various types of equipment including tires, ready-mix concrete trucks, and heavy construction equipment.
• Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance such as lubricating, oil changes, and failure analysis.
• Perform routine brake inspections/adjustments on commercial vehicles following Federal DOT requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electronics, and other components of concrete mixer trucks.
• Create work orders with legible and accurate information for repairs performed.
• Coordinate with location supervisor and review Pre-Trip inspections to prioritize work.
• Input daily repair reports into software-based tracking program.
• Communicate with drivers and plant managers to ensure adherence to preventative maintenance policies.
