Job summary

Cemex US is hiring a Maintenance Technician to perform maintenance and repair on a variety of mobile equipment in company shops or on roadways. The role focuses on maximizing equipment availability through proactive maintenance and timely repairs.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical and mechanical issues on concrete mixer trucks, performing routine preventive maintenance, brake inspections, hydraulic/electrical troubleshooting, and generating accurate work orders.

Qualifications

• Mechanical experience required and practical troubleshooting skills.
• Must bring own tools up to 1 ¼ inch capacity.
• Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• High school diploma preferred.
• Bilingual abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical problems and perform mechanical repairs and maintenance to equipment such as tires, concrete trucks, and construction equipment.
• Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.
• Perform routine preventative maintenance including lubricating and oil changes.
• Conduct routine brake inspections/adjustments on commercial vehicles per DOT requirements.
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic systems, electronics, and other components of concrete mixer trucks.
• Remove components for repair or replacement (injectors, starters, water pumps, radiators, brakes, etc.).
• Create work orders with legible, accurate Repair information.
• Coordinate with location supervisor and review Pre-Trip inspections to prioritize work.
• Input daily repair reports into a software tracking program.
• Communicate with drivers and plant managers to ensure policy adherence.
• Use a wide range of hand and power tools, torches and welding equipment.
• Order parts from approved vendors and transport trucks to pick up parts when needed.
• Operate fixed and mobile equipment as required.
• May assist in maintenance of fixed equipment.
• Follow CEMEX and OSHA safety rules at all times.
